We understand that each student is different and learning styles can vary depending on the course or subject matter. Self-study assessments provide you with an alternative learning option that might suit you better, while also saving time and money.

Self-study assessments allow you to learn on your own, as in-depth as you desire, over a 16-week period -- and they cost 75% less than our standard tuition rate.
Once you can pass a proficiency exam with a 70% or higher, you’ll receive “non-resident” credit and apply it toward your CSU Global undergraduate degree.

How It Works

Start by reviewing the available self-study assessment courses below. You will get study prep materials, including a suggested textbook, to help improve your understanding of expected learning outcomes. When you’re ready to sit for the exam, the following non-refundable fees will be required:

$250 per three-credit self-study assessment
$150 per one credit self-study assessment

Transfer Information

If you plan to transfer to another institution before completing your degree, please provide that institution with your self-study assessment study guide to ensure they will accept the transfer credit before investing in self-study assessment.

Currently, self-study assessment exam credit is not approved for Colorado gtPathway guaranteed transfer because self-study assessments are not considered resident credit.
