Three Phase Faculty Application Process

Colorado State University Global hires highly-qualified faculty with professional experience and a commitment to academic rigor. We have a Three Phase Faculty Application Process, which is outlined below. Candidates must successfully complete all phases of the process to be considered.

Phase 1 - Application & Background Check

The first phase of the application process requires submitting the requisite documents, interviewing, and completing a background check. During this phase, applicants will:

Submit the online application, resume/CV, copies of unofficial graduate (masters and terminal) transcripts and teaching philosophy.
Applicants who are invited to move forward into Phase 2 will be required to submit official graduate transcripts.
Interview with a CSU Global Faculty Recruitment Representative.
Submit the CSU Global Writing Assessment.
Interview with a program chair and/or committee.
Complete the request for background check.

In addition, in this phase, submitted references will be contacted and verified.

Phase 2 - Faculty Certification Course (FCC)

The second phase of the application process requires participation in the Faculty Certification Course (FCC100). In FCC100, faculty candidates examine the policies and protocols associated with being a member of CSU Global’s esteemed faculty. Candidates review the mission and vision of the university, engage in our learning management system, and participate in discussions that prepare them to teach at CSU Global. Completion of this onboarding course does not guarantee employment or course scheduling and candidates invited to move forward will be required to have all necessary Human Resources paperwork submitted prior to Phase 3.

Phase 3 - Applicant Mentored Course

In the third and final phase of the application process, each faculty candidate is enrolled as an instructor in a mentored first-course. First courses are considered probationary. During this time, first-course mentors provide weekly support and guidance, and are available to answer questions, provide explanations, and support candidates in meeting expectations.

Each phase of the application process is intended to align candidates with CSU Global faculty expectations and our commitment to student success through our mission of providing access to dynamic degree programs characterized by academic excellence.

Colorado State University Global employs part time, temporary, non-tenure-track instructors and appoints instructors/faculty on a course by course basis. Should you receive an appointment as an instructor with CSU Global, such appointment is considered to be an administrative professional appointment. Pursuant to C.R.S. 24-19-104, such position would be deemed to be "at- will" and your appointment would be subject to termination by either party at any time, although termination cannot be for a reason that is contrary to applicable federal, state, or local laws. Additionally, such appointment or any part of the appointment may be terminated in the event that student enrollment does not meet minimum course and section requirements as determined by CSU Global. Appointment is also contingent upon funds being appropriated, budgeted, and otherwise made available. If you are currently completing the Faculty Certification Course (FCC100) training, this appointment is contingent upon completion of the training and approval by Academic Operations; first courses are considered probationary and future course appointments are contingent upon continuous evaluation. Appointments may also be terminated if the faculty member/instructor does not meet the performance expectations outlined in the Faculty Manual, provided to you during the FCC100 course and located in the Faculty Portal.
